Borderline Diabetes
The term “borderline diabetes” is used less than in the past, because more precise terminology is now being used. Some healthcare professionals say that the term should be abandoned, and instead, one of the following terms should be used to describe what is happening in the body:
Insulin resistance: A condition in which the body does not respond normally to insulin, thus causing the body to produce more and more insulin to move glucose from the bloodstream into the cells.
Impaired glucose tolerance: This is the eventual consequence of insulin resistance. Over time, the body cannot make enough insulin to bring blood glucose levels down, so they rise slightly.
Prediabetes: For either of the reasons above, or others, fasting blood plasma glucose levels are over 100 mg/dl but under 126 mg/dl.
Type 2 diabetes: A physician will normally diagnose Type 2 diabetes
when fasting blood plasma glucose levels exceed 126 mg/dl. According to the American Diabetes Association, progress from prediabetes to Type 2 diabetes can often be delayed or prevented through increased exercise and changes to the diet.
Borderline diabetics can also get nutritional support for healthy blood sugar levels naturally through dietary supplementation with Caucasian blueberry leaves extract. This extract contains chlorogenic acid and hydroxycinnamic acid, which have been shown to reduce absorption of sugars through the intestines, reduce production of glucose in the liver, and accelerate glucose metabolism.* Click here to download the research summary.
Enhansulin® is 100% Caucasian blueberry leaves extract. When taken before meals and snacks in conjunction with a healthy diet, Enhansulin can provide nutritional support for healthy blood sugar levels. |
