Georgian Longevity

It is not unusual for people to live beyond 100 years of age In the Republic of Georgia, formerly part of the Soviet Union. When demographers discovered a disproportionate number of centegenarians (people over 100 years old) in the Georgian population, many scientists were dispatched to the country in search of the “fountain of youth” responsible for Georgian longevity.

Extensive study of the history and culture of the Georgians discovered a rich history of folk medicine, mostly based on the abundant plant species in the region.  From these studies four plant species emerged as particularly health-giving, and undoubtedly contributing to the legendary long lives of the Georgians:

Rhododendron caucasicum,  is grown at 10,000- to 30,000-foot elevations in the Caucasian Mountains,  and is also known as "snow rose". Thirty years of research indicate that the phenylpropanoids in Rhododendron improve physical abilities, increase activity of the cardiovascular system, and increase blood supply to the muscles and especially to the brain. These properties are thought to be helpful for atherosclerosis, gout, glaucoma, and depression.

Georgian Pomegranate, a popular ingredient in traditional Georgian salads, has also been cited for health-giving benefits and has its place in Georgian folk medicine. The juice of the Georgian Pomegranate was used to kill certain intestinal worms, to control diarrhea, as a cough suppressant, and as anti-inflammatory.

Rhodiola Rosea is a leafy green plant with yellow flowers, but its golden root has had a place in folk medicine for over 2,000 years. Its primary use in Georgian folk medicine was to increase physical endurance and work productivity, to reduce depression and fatigue, and to provide resistance to high altitude sickness.

Caucasian Blueberry, though producing a tasty fruit, is more known for its leaves. The primary use of Caucasian blueberry leaves in Georgian folk medicine was for the treatment of blood sugar imbalances.

Now through modern science, the nutritional benefits of the Caucasian blueberry leaf are available in Enhansulin® brand, 100% pure Caucasian Blueberry leaf extract. When taken before meals, Enhansulin® provides nutritional support for healthy blood sugar levels. If you don’t find Enhansulin to be a valuable part of your natural diabetes and cholesterol control program, we’ll refund the purchase price
